The School of Christ is intended as a guide to the teachings of Jesus about the challenging process of character transformation. We come to Jesus as imperfect, needy creatures acknowledging our weakness. So just what does he want us to be and become? Just what will a disciple of Jesus look like?
I wrote The School of Christ to encourage us to deeper contemplation of what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Far too often, Christians have taught the good news of Jesus as if it is a one-time commitment. The gospels, though, picture it as a lifetime of growth, challenge, repentance, and victory. My prayer is that this book will draw you closer to Jesus and his will for you. ----------------------------------------------------------------- From the book jacket: Do you want to move from knowing facts about Jesus to being like Jesus? We stand alongside his disciples as he challenges them to face their fears, abandon their ambitions, and learn to love. Gradually his teaching and example change them into men of remarkable character and faith. Jesus will teach us his character if we are willing to listen and follow. |
